Understanding the 2009 Code Book Changes

Did you know the New 2009 Michigan Residential Code will take effect March 9, 2011? Before the changes take effect, familiarize yourself with the changes that your building inspectors will be looking for. This 3-hour course will review both the changes in the Residential Code but also the Michigan Uniform Energy Code. Some of the new changes will include: Truss Engineering requirements, arc fault circuit interrupters, fire separation requirements, frost protected shallow foundations and more.

Before the new building season gets underway take this opportunity to purchase a copy of the new MRC 2009 Code book. (Note: Effective June 1 2008, (Public Act 157 of 2007) states that licensees applying for renewal of their license are required to confirm that they possess a copy of the current Michigan Residential Code.)
